Ko Si Chang
Once on Si Chang, I was brought to a cubicle that cost 30% more of my Vietnamese Nihn Bihn $ 6 “palace” and told that if I wanted a bathroom, I’d have to pay 3 times as much. I am starting to understand why this place isn’t on the mass tourism itinerary: they charge too much in return for nothing, except when it comes to food, I had an excellent dinner for $ 1. But room and transport are outrageous: in Siem Reap, an international resort, I was paying $ 10 for a room with bath, flushing toilet, hot water, pool (very small) and internet. Here they demanded I pay extra for tissue paper. Nonetheless, I pitched my tent, un packed my bags and went through the ritual of sealing the mosquito nets with my art tape: I am staying, finishing the blog, for all practical purposes; this will be my last stop before I head to Bangkok and then Hastily to Hong Kong, where I catch my flight back to Europe. I am planning to swim, eat well, make art, relax and think.
