Back to Guangzhou, a/k/a Canton
Remember the almost beginning of this blog? Today we are going back to Gunagzhou and taking up again (and I hope for the last time) chronological order. My trip is winding down, I am writing this from a remote island of the Gulf of Thailand, avoided by the Western touristic flow for very good reasons, which work for me somehow: there may be less than a handful of Westerners including me and although I have to bike to town with a upgrades of 20% and probably over, whenever I need something, though my room (with no flushing toilet and a cold "shower") has "sunset on the sea" views and 24 hours sensurround seawaves audio, which can be a little maddening at times: in 3 days, it hasn't stopped for a minute, I doubt it ever will while I am here. I have been writing some more and it will be posted presently; editing pictures, which will be posted in the usual half-haphazard fashion I used so far, swimming, eating well for a dollar a meal and tanning wisely. Not much sleep: the room is hot and I can't take the "sweeping beam" ceiling fan, it either revolves 360 degrees, sending my way a periodic blizzard, or turned off. I am going to try to disable it again, but I don't hold much hope. Perhaps it's just a metaphor for my personal demons, lurking below what I am conscious of.
